heavies busting the clouds

Here are a few shots from today, taken from the local approach route to schiphol, they fly almost directly over my house, and today it was a pleasure to watch them busting through the clouds, wich were wide spread and very diverse, from heavy rain clouds to light cumulus ones, with a few showers in between. I think the second plane is a 767, but it also could be a 777, they both have rather big engines.

Sure do, the only downside is that you cant really predict how there going to fly, since the ATC sometimes tend to steer them more left or right, so most of the other shots i got didnt really had much of plane in them .

Ah, at first i thought it was a new airliner of some sort(cargo obviously) but i didnt it was asiana. I kinda like the paint scheme too, i got a 1280 version as my background right now .

This is a F-70 i photographed, and after loading in on the computer, it had its airbrakes deployed and was turning(2 foto's later, roughly 5 seconds they were retracted). Is this a normal procedure for a aircraft to do this at low altitude<6000FT?

Yep. As with their sister the F100 and cousin the BAe-146, they leave the airbrakes out well before touchdown.

Because when I had that idea... I was in Leiden...when I got home I didn't see much flying anymore

Ah yeah, leiden isnt a good spot for aviation photography.

Ah, i wasnt aware of that, but i suppose it never is for a really long time then? Since it slows the plane down quite a bit.

Well on somedays from the Hospitals Helipad it wouldn't be a bad place I think..... Seeing a Lynx land there is quite cool also

You got acces to that area? And i havent seen a lynx in a long long time, i quite miss them and the orions since they close valkenburg, although i saw a chinook heading south a few days ago.
