Postby Ashar » Wed Feb 13, 2008 5:01 pm

Hi guys,
Just two shots to share with you all...First, it's the only shot I could take with my camera over winter break...My camera refused to work for some reason after I took this shot :-/

The second one was today's lunch :D

Neat shots.  Your lunch looks a whole lot more appetizing than the pb&j I had for lunch.

LOL...I had a feeling something was wrong...The thing is I added the chicken as an afterthought and had to cook the chicken thoroughly before eating it...Guess I should've cooked the chicken a little first before adding in the vegetables...Oh well, I'll get better as I cook more and more...I tell you what though, cooking is addicting :D

indeed, i love cooking...its the washing up at the end i hate lol.

my tip for cooking veg, boil your water first, then add your veg to the boiling water.  cook until the vegtables have gone bright in colour, and have a slight crunch to them.  if you like, add a small knob of butter, toss the veg around and enjoy!   8-)

I usually stir fry my vegetables in a little olive oil...I add a little salt for flavor a ground black peppers for flavor. I can try your way though, I'm always open to new ideas ;)

Oh, and I hate cleaning up too :D

Stir frying is best with a nut or vegetable oil, Olive oil heats up too quickly and has a low burn point which can impair flavour Ash.
May I suggest before stir frying, get the oil as hot as you dare and drop a few peppercorns and mustard seeds in, wait for them to split and pop, which should only take a few seconds, then add your veg and stir like crazy. Your veg should be ready in about 2 minutes, with a nice flavour, as the oil will take the seed taste as well. And if you must use chicken, slice it as fine as you can get it, it will speed up the cooking process.
Healthy too...

Ha, yep.  You're in Wichita, right?  Here in Lawrence it was in the 40s two days ago, then the temperature dropped to the 20s, then last night it rained, which became snow, and it was snowing this morning.  Now it's sunny and really windy.  Gotta love Kansas weather :P
