The tupelov is more complex, twice as fast and holds a lot more payload than the B-1. The B-1 was introduced in 1986, the Tupelov in 1987. I doubt you can call it a "copy" as such (its a bit hard to copy a complete aircraft within a year :P)
As for Russians copying technology, Russian fighters have had 3D jet vectoring for decades before the US even attempted 2D thrust vectoring, I wonder who's copying? :P
By the way, that first and last shots are absolutely stunning!
Cheers
It may not be a direct copy, but sure is based on the first produced and designed aircraft. Russians designs have always had direct relation or exact copy as US aircraft. Take for example the B-29. I wouldn't say that the Russians had 3D thrust vectoring for a decade but several years, and still none actual model that's in production suppling any air force. Actually I can find evidence to back my self up to say the su-37 project was canceled due to lack of funding. Which was the only aircraft to use "3D thrust vectoring".
