In effect, yes. I think it's fairer to say it's based on the F-16, rather than being licenced copy.

   * larger tailplane

So you can rip off a multi million dollar fighter aircraft and not much is said, but put "Mc" in front of your name on your newly opened restaurant and you will get hit by a law suit faster than the top speed of said fighter
