Let's be realistic about this. Whatever aviation enthusiasts might like to think the first flight of a restored vintage aircraft is a minor event in the general scheme of things.
Depends really. when our money has been spent on this project, and when it is a pretty big thing locally, I dont see how some possibly corrupt politician returning home halfway round the world, deserves any more time than this.
At the risk of getting political, current events in Pakistan could very well affect the stability of that whole part of the world for years to come. This is an international matter & is far more important than flying an antique aeroplane.
Maybe, maybe not. But her playing ringmaster to a media circus doesn't require missing out on our own historic event. The world isn't going to change in the next couple of hours.
