When is the A380-800...

You also failed to mention, that the Sonic Cruiser was cancelled, all in an attempt to make Boeing look good and to make Airbus look like the crappy unreliable company. Now, I'm not saying either company is better, I'm saying that each have their own qualities. Boeing has dominated air travel for 30 years now, its time for Airbus to combat it with the A380.

Also, there are a lot of airlines that are not looking for a plane the size of an A380. Also many airlines that already have 747s might stick with the 747. I saw an interview with a guy from Qantas and the guy walking him through the A380 and trying to sell it to Qantas. "Its too big" the Qantas guy said in a whisper voice. Ok ok ok, just my point is that there are airlines that dont want that big of an airplane

But the point fails on the fact that the only source if infomation stating that is from Quantas who obviously really do want that big of an airplane.

Not all airlines go international.

Some do, but would rather stick with either the 747, 767 or the A340.

Some are cutting back on orders because of all the delays.

There are only about 160 orders, which still puts Airbus way behind (last I heard on either the TV or online at their website)

All Im trying to get out is that the A380 might not be a huge success at first.

Just to clear some thing's up:
The 787 is a new all (highly) composite airplane, which is designed to replace the A330, 767 and maybe, if the 787-10 is launched, the 777. It will not and cannot compete with the 757, as the 757 is slightly bigger than a 737-900.

The 787 is on schedule, six 787 fuselages have been created so far, all of them are meeting specifications promised by Boeing, however they are also to heavy for Boeings internal goals. The 7th fuselage is projected to be on target.

Do you honestly think there would be 500 orders for a dream plane? No, as I said the 787 is on schedule and should fly this year.

One thing you can all try with a fully loaded VC10 if you have Kai Tak is to line up on Rwy 13 from taxiway alpha, handbrake "on", engines firewalled, let go the brake and rotate before the numbers. How many fully loaded a/c have that kind of performance today? I think it would be tricky in the A380!!!!!!!

An RR powered 757? Seen them take off faster than F-111s... And a 747SP's MMO is Mach .95, I don't know max cruise....?

UPS and FEDEX's orders were for 10 freighters each - not all that much in the long term, and space on the production line that can now be made available to customers considering the pax variant. Airbus will probably thank them for cancelling as it means that more resources can be pumped into the more lucrative pax variants in the short term, allowing freighter development later on.
