a close relation of mine has a 1989 Chevy S-10 Blazer with a 4.3 Throttle body injected engine and when you start it, smokes like a mosquito machine..... I was wondering if anyone here knew if it would be bad O-rings in the TBI or Tappet valves or something else, the smoke is white, the old girl used to smoke when started then quit, upon checking the oil, 2 quarts of gasoline! I bought a new TBI unit on ebay and waiting for it to arrive so we can install it and see if she'll quit smoking, but I was wondering if it could be the TBI unit, also the dealership it was bought from locked the keys in it, and somehow jimmied their way through the tailgate and ever since, the tailgate hasnt opened, the cover to the mechanism is busted, and you can turn it by hand, but the tailgate doesnt open, Anyone have an idea how to manually get it open? We use the blazer to haul a boat only and not for day driving, but when the boats not on the trailer and you cant see it when pulling it out of the water........ its painful! So I was wondering if anyone here might have any ideas! Cheers, Gunny, and if you need more info about the problems just ask in reply!
