Need help finding the name of a song....

Postby Groundbound1 » Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:48 pm

Ok, this is going to be a hard one. I don't know the title or the artist, but I do know the song was played on the radio.

Here's the thing, I first heard it on The Weather Channel (don't laugh, it was a cool tune!) in the mid to late 80's. I also know that one of the other songs being played during "your local forcast" in that time period was Kenny G's Songbird. (Don't like Kenny G....never have....if you do, I'm cool with that, but I know he didn't perform this one.)

The real kicker is that I heard it on the radio ONCE a few years later on a PBS or college radio station, but never caught the name of it.

It had no vocals, but a lot of percussion, and a deep  base track, all synthesized.

To be honest, it's not the best tune in the world, but I would sure like to hear it again to see why it made such an impression on me.

Any ideas?

Yeah. In fact, that's what got me thinking about it again. I was reading the "What song are you listening to now" thread, and looking up the groups I hadn't heard of on YouTube, when I came across a few Weather channel clips. (Go figure) I know I would know it if I heard it again. Sounds a little like somthing Enigma would do, but a little more somber.

Not much to go on, I know...

[smiley=bigcool.gif] [smiley=clapping.gif] FOUND IT...FOUND IT!

It's called Celestial Soda Pop by Ray Lynch.

Like I said, not a great tune, but it has a little sentimental meaning for me I guess. I used to be big into storm "chasing" when I was a kid, and this music was always playing on TWC.

(Easy done on a Synthesizer with an Arpeggiator....Yamaha Motif Series)... ;)...!
