Ok, this is going to be a hard one. I don't know the title or the artist, but I do know the song was played on the radio.
Here's the thing, I first heard it on The Weather Channel (don't laugh, it was a cool tune!) in the mid to late 80's. I also know that one of the other songs being played during "your local forcast" in that time period was Kenny G's Songbird. (Don't like Kenny G....never have....if you do, I'm cool with that, but I know he didn't perform this one.)
The real kicker is that I heard it on the radio ONCE a few years later on a PBS or college radio station, but never caught the name of it.
It had no vocals, but a lot of percussion, and a deep base track, all synthesized.
To be honest, it's not the best tune in the world, but I would sure like to hear it again to see why it made such an impression on me.
Any ideas?
