And then UPC (my local cable company) put all of Discovery into Hungarian and I strongly suspect the person doing the translation hasn't got a brilliant command of English, regularly they mix up hundreds and thousands, so an experienced fighter pilot has 300 hours of stick time ::) or my favourite was when a xeno-biologist working for NASA became an ex-biologist ;D

On thing about Bob The Builder when "translated" for the American market, it takes longer to say "Bob" than it does "The Builder".......

"Boooooooooooooooooooob, The Builder"  ;D ;D

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Maybe the producers think that American children wouldn't be able to understand a British accent. ::) I've never had trouble with it, but I know a few people who do. Once in high school I quoted Monty Python in my best Brit accent, and some girl goes "I don't speak *frinch!"

*obviously not, she couldn't even pronounce it. Of course, this is the same person who argued with the history teacher about whether or not there were two world wars. ::)
