It's to keep your ass from passing through your head on the way up. It's more of a courtesy than anything. Most people don't like the idea of the last think that passe's through their minds being their ass's, makes for some shitty thoughts on the subject..... ;)

Now you see how I got my bull shit artist award in the Army, took first place, I was so proud...... ;D

Somebody missed the step on identifying the payload as inert, repeatedly. And those involved were dealt with and they won't be allowed to play with nukes no more.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
