I had a rather splendid lunch today myself Fozzer, roast lamb and all the trimmings with extra parsnips (chef likes me at the moment).
Yummy 8-)

How do you cook your french fries Paul. Deep fried or in the oven? I used to deep fry them in sunflower oil, but keeping the deep frier cleaned up was a hassle. Now I just bake them in the oven on tin foil.

Hello Steve... :)...

They are frozen French Fries, (very cheap, and quick).

I pop them into a basket in my frying "saucepan" containing Vegetable oil ready brought up to temperature.
Fry them vigorously for about 3-5 minutes, keeping an eye on them to make sure they are the right "colour!" and reasonably crisp? and drain them on a paper kitchen towel.

Quick, cheap, and cheerful...goes nice with a fried egg/fish fingers/fish cakes, etc...and some Tomato ketchup!
...and crusty bread and butter...

Paul...A Chip off the old block... ;D...!

There are so many ways to eat French fries. I tried Poutine a while back and it was too heavy for my tastes. Either vinegar or catsup is the  route I take.  8-)
