I prefer that my body is cremated .....when I was young, I made myself an Egyptian sarcophagus styled bed...to remind me that I have to die, and re-access my priorities in life.......

I have informed all my Siblings that I have no wish to be set alight, and burst into flames, after I finally pop my clogs!... ;)....!

Siblings? You mean there's more like you? I thought you were unique. :P

They can do what they like with me when I go. I'll be past caring. :D

Siblings?.... :-[....Children!.. ;).... ;D...!

Actually, its quite nice to think that all the generations of my Family, over the Centuries, have all kept details and records of their Burial Plots for anyone interested to visit, and be aware of their previous existence on our Planet...
...which is nice... :)...!

If you are set alight, there is no further record of you, its as though you never existed!.... :o....!

I like the thought of turning into Fertiliser... :)...!

I want Folks to visit, and remember me with awe!

Paul...what a morbid subject!... :o...Time to put the Kettle on!... ;)...!

My local cemetery was trying to drum up some business.. :D...and a salesman stopped by my home.

We discussed all the particulars and we got to the vault. He tried to get me to purchase a VERY expensive fiberglass vault. His reasoning was that they concrete ones "leaked". I told him I'd be dead and wouldn't give a darn if it leaked and it wasn't like I was expecting guests.... ::)

I only purchased the lots. That was 18 years ago and the pair cost me $750.00 USD. I heard that they were selling for $5,000.00 USD today. All the other stuff was going to cost $6,000.00 USD not including the coffins. Now the cost is $9,000.00 USD.  :o

The coffins average an additional $1,500 (for the cheap ones) to $10,000 +

I told my wife to have my brother make me one of those old west pine boxes. Cost maybe $500.00 and I sure won't be complaining about splinters in my butt... ;D

...back to the Morbid subject...

Over here, I think you can be placed in a home-made cardboard box*, and, with permission, be buried under a tree out in the countryside, for very little money....(I like that idea... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...)...!

A bit like American Cowboys and Outlaws!.... ;)..!

Paul...Home on the Range... 8-)...!

* or the Family size, Kellogs Cornflakes box.... 8-)....(Eat the Corn Flakes first...Last meal)...;)...!!

You know, if they tamp you in well enough, one of the large domestic trash bins should work; maybe $30 - $40 for an on-sale cheepie.
Of course, for a lesser burial cost, as soon as the rigormortis sets in they can throw you in with the trash as an unwanted lawn ornament.

;)

Imagine how noisy a cemetary would be if the dead weren't buried -- coffin after coffin all over the place... ::)
