I went to see my old flight instructor today just to visit. He is also a mechanic and runs a small shop. I told him that I had had no luck in my job hunt and then it dawned on me, I could work for him which I would do for free just for the experience. So I offered to come in a couple of days a week, work for free and build my experience. He said "sure, we can do that" and handed me a wrench. Then I spent 6 hours taking cowls, access panels and various other things off of a Porterfield aircraft so that it could have it's annual done. I'm tired and happy.

Joe (my new boss) also said that we could work it out so that it isn't totally free, I'll probably get payed in flight instruction time which is more than enough for me.
