A question for our American friends...

The Pacific Northwest may have been forgotten, but that doesn't mean we don't have anything significant here. We still have Mt Rainier, Mt St. Helens, and several other mountains and volcanoes.  There is a LOT of farmland here in the Pacific Northwest, lots of beautifull forests to explore, and a lot of other things to see and do.

It's one of my favorite places to visit..  The train from Chicago to Seattle is breath-taking..  It's a lot like my homeland, with mountains thrown in.. AND some of the most spectacular flying in the world..  :)

When someone is going to "Washington", or mentions "Washington", how do we know whether they are referring to The State of Washington, or the Capital; Washington DC...(District of Columbia)...?

Same name, two entirely different places in the U.S.... ...!

Brits and non-Americans will probably say 'Washington' for the capital. I would say Washington for the state... And D.C, or Washington D.C for the capital.


Suppose you have to know the states before hand to get it.

One ticket to Port Angeles, Washington via D.C, please.

Sure, Oregon has Crater Lake National Park, Mt. Hood, is home of the Spruce Goose, has a great coast, and has lots of productive farmland. The cascades extend down into Oregon, the columbia river flows into oregon, and there are also lots of dense forests in Oregon to enjoy.

I wonder the same thing.  I live in the US and I am not actually sure where the Washington Redskins play, since I never travel to DC or Washington state.

In one of the most idiotic decisions in all of amateur sports the NCAA took it upon itself to determine that native Americans might not like being named college mascots and banned several "offensive" mascots.  The NCAA never bothered to ask the native Americans.

...and as for the State of Oregon....I always find it very scary during my Sim Flights north of California....populated by very strange Oregano Folks...and Bears...and lots, and lots of Trees!... ...!

There always seems to be something very secretive about the State of Oregon!
