I read your comments and I thinking about going for a rifle of a lower caliber. And, since I'm interested in accuracy, I'm going to get a bolt action rifle.
At the moment, I'm actually interested in Richies Savage Model 93R17. (Thanks for posting a picture of the .17HRM, I was curious to know what the bullet looked like.)
Boling down my interest, my first rifle should have
-Accuracy
-Good up to 100 yards
-Cheap Ammo (to maximize practice and range time)
If I get better, and want to shoot at a further distance. I might get the Remington 700. But that thought is for later.
I'm still interested in a hand gun. Theres a combat range that you run through, and you shoot at targets that pop out of nowhere.
So, I'm kind of interested in action type pistol. Which is why I was interested in the SIG-226. I'm probably going to get the cheaper variant for $350.
But for collection reasons. I just might try to pick up an German Mauser K-98 for $400.
