I don't see what the big deal is. The only problem I see is that the UN sure took their time with the trials, since he was arrested way back in 2001.
But, in the end, nothing would have changed. Had the trials been finished-he would have been found guilty and sentenced to life in prision-so he would have died in jail just like he did. I suppose that this way, since the UN never completed the trial, they didn't have to use all those resources on him.
But then again, I would have liked to see him found guilty and sentenced for his crimes-even though nothing would have changed.
