To buy a servicable one you're looking at one and a half million quid starting price, more for a rarer model.
Keeping her flying can realistically cost between 10 and 50 thousand a year (not including fuel, oil, insurance, landing fees etc just maint.). An engine rebuild is about 40 thousand, and needs to be done every closed season. It is a lot of dough. So realistically 100,000 pounds a year.
I've invested a lot of time and money into Binky already! I've also spent a lot of time learning how to make aircraft from metal sheets. I have one big advantage in that my father-in-law used to maintain aircraft for the Hungarian Army and is now a retired engineer with two whole tooled-up workshops. Talk about someone who knows what he is doing
