I don't think I'll bother marrying my Mother-in-Law now...
She has been festering in our local graveyard for nigh on 25 years now.... ::)...!

I really don't think she is in a fit state now to walk down the isle with yer ol' mate Fozzer...?

She was a bit of a larf at one time, but the dreaded "Fags*" finally finished her off... ;)...!

... I have strong views on most subjects, some of which I know would undoubtedly cause offence. To avoid this I try to bite my tongue & keep my more controversial opinions to myself. This is not always successful which leads to me saying something I might regret later. I'm not in the habit of saying things behind people's backs that I wouldn't say to their faces. My problem has always been that I'm too honest & was never afraid of saying what I think.
PS. I think it's a mistake to know too much about people. By reading between the lines in their posts I already know far more about most regulars here than they might realise without them going into specific details or revealing personal information.
It doesn't always take much "between the lines" with some of us. I've rarely started a thread but I'm quite open and can respond to almost anything, which I've tried to be careful of here. I'm taken aback when someone responds as if I'm attacking them since, like most everyone, I strive to be understood, not necessarily agreed with. As someone else has been told recently, if I'm attacked I can return fire; if I see that same person being unfairly attacked, I'm just as apt to defend them no matter what we disagree on.
As Craig said with the now ancient addage,"You can't please everyone." So, too, some people will find a gripe with anything you state -- regardless of how you meant it :'(.

That's really scary, Doug...!

You've obviously sussed me out by now, that I am a silly old fart chap who likes nothing more than "extracting the urine" from Politicians, Born Again Christians, Europhiles, Vegetarians, people with dubious sexual preferences, argumentative sods who don't agree with what I say, etc, etc....:D...!
...in fact...
All the posts which could get me Banned with Honours and the Fozzers Cross Of Bravery Under Fire...  8)...!

Luv it... ;D...!

We're very much alike Paul. In fact it's quite frightening to think about. :o :D

Apart from our age, the main difference between us is that I'm a tad more diplomatic. At least, I try to be. ::) ;)

Hi Doug....

"Diplomatic"...

Just checked in the Fozzers Oxford Mercian Dictionary..

Diplo. n. Insufficient quantity of Avagas in the fuel tanks to complete the flight journey.

Matic. n. The process of switching to Autopilot during a flight.

...apart from that, I can't find the description "diplomatic" which particularly applies to your ol' Mate Foz in the dictionary... ;)...!

LOL...!

Never fear...

Nere again shall the troublesome Fozzer darken the hallowed doorsteps of the Simv Forum with his presence, and usual style of mirth.

I deeply regret posting this topic now. It seemed a good idea at the time but I had no idea it would result in this.

It might have been best if someone had done as I suggested two days ago. Hagar said:
I should have known better than post this. It was intended as a poke at the stupid beaurocrats in the EU - a political subject which is quite rightly banned here. It seems to have turned into a debate on religious & moral issues so it might be best to delete the whole thing.

Don't kick yourself, Hagar. So far, at least, he's still registered but...
Like I indicated, it's sometimes nigh impossible to predict or stop things from going haywire:'(.
