I'll say it once more. If you have a problem with prices, buy a car that does 40 miles to the gallon. Dump your 3 litre v8's or stop complaining. ::)

Or get a bike - you can get 70 MPG. Pretty nifty.

No, I think we'll pass, Doug. Thanks for the offer, however.

I'm curious about what all it would take to go back down to 1.50 or less. The cost of war has driven it up some, but what else?

A miracle. That's about the only thing that springs to mind from where I'm sitting.

Think you chaps have to get used to the idea.

Miracle. Eeuh. I just don't want it to go where its 6 or 7 bucks a gallon, like the Canadians among other Countries have it as.

Hopefully, a 'miracle' will happen.

Prices depend on so many things. I'm not sure how they do it in Canada but, as I've already pointed out several times, in the UK over 70% of the price of petrol is tax which until recently was increased at least once every year. This is on top of the cost of oil & the higher the price of petrol the more tax we pay. When was the last time you ever saw the cost of anything go down?

Actually the other day! It went on sale!  ;D

But honestly, you have a good point. For the most part, prices are always going to go up. Our current gasoline tax is $0.24 a gallon. ( I think) And it is only bound to go up...

Wow. That's unreal. Have you laid down the hammer on it yet? I know a 'certain person' (*cough*) who discovered that the automatic model will burn the rubber off the rims at 60 mph....

Yes, I have floored it many times but have never burned rubber over 35, was this anonymous person ;) who burned rubber at 60mph using a Z51? It shouldn't have done that. I do have the automatic model though, the performance is just as good, if not better than, that of the manual model.

Something good is coming out of this spike in prices though, SUV and other inefficient vehicle sales are down! 8) 8) 8)

I won't be bothered if gas gets more expensive, it is good for the earth!
