Oh, where to begin with this one.....I'm not going to go over the original purpose of the thread, because I agree with the author...it's ridiculous...
yep, thats what i dont like about US. They say "Freedom of religion" but they make the kids say the prayer in schools. Those who live in US prolly know it by heart. I pledge alligeance............... UNDER GOD.........
and whats the deal with the money
IN GOD WE TRUST
If i dont believe in God, is the money worthless to me??
They make the kids say the prayers in schools? Where exactly are you going to school? No one is FORCING you to do anything. If you don't want to say it, don't say it. Saying "under God" in school isn't any more of a prayer than saying "Oh my God" is. Get over it.
The deal with money is simple. Our nation was founded with a firm belief in The Almighty. If you don't like it, our borders are wide open. I highly encourage you to orient yourself toward the border, then walk until it's behind you.
No RIchie, the pledge is still there, in NY atleast
If you think that the Pledge of Allegiance could possibly vary from state to state, then perhaps you should stop worrying about stupid crap like this and pay more attention in class.
Bottom line: is it unconstitutional? Yes, actually.
Do we care? NO!
How is having "Under God" or "In God We Trust" involved in government affairs even remotely unconstitutional? Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution are the words "Separation of Church and State" written.
If you don't want to believe in God, that's your deal. I'll pray for you. But don't go around trying to take God out of the lives of the rest of us. If you don't like beef, don't eat beef. But dammit, I want a hamburger once in a while.
Sorry, but this topic pisses me off more than you can possibly understand.
