Are you certain of that Woody? It was always Boadicea in my day, pronounced Bo-diss-ear. Boudicca, Boudica or whatever seems to be a modern interpretation. I've only seen it spelled/pronounced like this in recent years.I always thought this was just another one of those trendy theories with no basis in fact. They seem to like messing around with everything these days.
Many people suspect that I actually knew her. I emphatically deny that although I wouldn't be surprised if Fozzer was closely acquainted.
I believe the theory goes that sometime in the dark ages a monk decided that Boudicca was a ghastly name and changed to to Boadicea to no doubt make her sound more regal and girly. No one's going to chastise you too much though if you say it either way. Though think carefully before you speak to a large, red haired woman on Platform 10 Kings Cross station.
