A bit of context explanations here
The Mustang Racer is the only default plane in FSX that uses the engine damage feature of FSX Acceleration. Engine damage will occur if you push the engine power too far without activating the ADI, the anti-detonation injection system.
If you want to prevent your engine from exploding, always keep an eye on your manifold pressure gauge. Keep it in the green zone. If you want to go close to the red zone, don't do it without activating the ADI first. And don't go in the red. Ever.
The engine damage can be added to other aircrafts as well. It's just a line to add in the aircraft.cfg of the aircraft, in the [piston engine] section:
detonation_onset = xx
xx is the manifold pressure that should not be exceeded without ADI. On the Mustang, this is set to 80.
Of course, this feature will only work for the owners of FSX Acceleration.
