hi Dave,
i am happy to report that i did find the solution tonight!
my monitor is a 20" screen that runs a native 1600x1200 resolution. the text gets really small so i have to increase the text size under windows display settings to reduce strain on my eyes. when i installed win7 i went straight to 150% which is nice and big. that turned out to be my problem, though. reducing that to 125% did the trick and i can now change the dials on the MCP again.
how did i discover this? i just did a new installation on a spare HDD and only set it to 125% to begin with (i tried to keep settings on this installation different, i even stayed away fromt the nvidia gpu drivers), then went from there and at some point the light went on somewhere in my head and when i blew it up to 150% i had the same problem on the new installation, too. so i went back to my regular installation, reduced the text size to 125% and everything is fine.
now i can enjoy flying again because this was really bugging me. and i can install the rest of my add ons. i kinda put those on hold because i did not know if i have to reinstall it all again.
thank you for your help! i am enjoying win7 very much so far and i hope you are, too. i haven't even tweaked a thing and performance is great, although it seems that textures are not as crisp, but i will have to install nhancer and hopefully that will help.
regards,
Denis
