a question and an interesting find

Postby th3flyboy » Wed Aug 06, 2008 5:20 pm

Hey guys (and girls), I have a quick question. Does anyone know how to fix the blurries in FSX SP2. When I'm flying in the air, the more distant textures get very blurry, and I want to fix this.

Second, I was looking through the .cfg file, and I found this:

[VirtualCopilot]
VirtualCopilotActive=0

Anyone know what that does exactly and if it works?

I don't know off the top of my head, but I think thee's a slid in the "settings" that might deal with that.

To the second, you could always change it to one, and see what happens.  It's not like changing that to a "1" will blow up your computer or make your head explode, and if there is any adverse effect to that aircraft, you can always change it back to "0".

It's kind of like the old cereal commercial..

"You try it."

"I'm not gonna try it.   You try it!"

"I know. Let's get Mikey to try it.  Mikey will try anything..."

:D

(Besides, on the off chance the end result is rapid crainial content dispersion due to incredibly rapid incerease in internal cerebrial preassure, I'd rather not be the test subject....) ::)

[VirtualCopilot]
VirtualCopilotActive=0

That stores the setting for 'Display Flying Tips' in the Realism settings.

Flying Tips are messages like 'Your engine is losing power, adjust the mixture' or 'your engine is not started' that pop up as reminders. They're supposedly from your co-pilot but, after awhile, more like having your wife in the right seat...

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Looking at your Avatar you'd have to change your makeup to even get to first base.

Makeup?  Oh, the leather flying cap.  I know it's outdated, but oh well.  ;)

Don't listen to boikat, one time i changed the value on the afterburner in an aircraft.cfg, and when I started up the sim it said some sorta thing about compatibility and the sim crashed, then a midget punched through my computer screen and gave me a noogie so bad my scalp bled.
