FSX/Acceleration question(s)

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Did you not install them?

Device manager, Display Adapters, the properties for the card, driver tab, driver version, it will be the last 6 numbers with the decimal out of place

the 116.13 drivers list as: 11.6913

Yes, Nhancer is a 3rd party program Nvidia hates and has been trying to get rid of them for over 6 months because it allows you to have control of your card and your game instead of them.

This is my current driver version....

7.15.11.5824

All I did was install the CD that came with my 8800 GTS SSC 2 days ago after I installed the card.

I figured out that Nhanser was a third party DL and I have it now. Just havn't applied it yet.

I take it that once used, I go to this to set my desired settings vs the nVidea control panel?

While I wait for a reply as I see your offline now, I am going to see what happens when I apply what you posted earlier.

The stutters are telling you the system is taxed and to back off

you do need to set things up right with Nhancer too. The 158.24 drivers you have installed are very old, as I recall they are the minimum for SP2/Acceleration

I would upgrade to the 169.13 or try the 169.28's, or the official 169.25's

Go to Nvidia for the latest official drivers (169.25) and use the drop-downs to locate them

the best ones I found are 169.13 for XP x64 but everyone is different in that area, especially with Vista

I use an ATI card for Vista so I can not help you with Nv drivers on that OS

and by the way, when you chck for frames, do not point the camera 'down" check them by setting the camera level with the aircraft but "slightly" down, and show the entire area out to the horizon and include the city in it...

Let me get the drivers first. See what goes down. Then I will play with Nhanser..............I'll be back.

Without Nhancer you can not control the drivers, thats what I have been trying to explain. Nvidia installs a game profile for FSX which overrides everything you set, everything

BTW 169.25 is the latest Nvidia official Vista driver, not 21... my mistake

:)

Pull your zoom back a bit, but that is more in line with how to check things. You could be a little higher too

thats better, a tad far back on the zoom for a single prop but thats the idea

here is a quick and dirty one... i dont have time to be artistic and I am online and surfing while flying so my frames are a bit low

I usually try to get the city and the airport in line with each other to find out just how much of a drag the setting have on me

Image

In that shot I have the city, Boeing and KSEA all in one line

The clouds/weather do not make things easier, only a larger load
