Well, PTalylor did say that the faster speeds will display this problem.

On one thought, what zoom levels are you using.
I do know that because the sim changes the perception in wide screen to reveal more screen the frame rate naturally drops, just like if you zoom back. Perhaps a combination of wide screen and zoom are playing into this too?

Okaay, here's my final settings:
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=326 (<- Final)
UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=20 (<- Final)
WideViewAspect=True (<- Necessary, reduces blurries)
FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.47 (<- Okay)
AUTOGEN_DENSITY=4 (<- Makes Europe look better)
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=2400 (<- = 960)
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=1200 (<- = 480)
PoolSize=5000000
VSync = On
Performance = High Quality
Trilinear Optimization = Off
Aniso Sample = Off
= Compromise. Neither 100% smooth, nor 100% image quality. But waaay better than before.
But it will do 'till SP1, I hope. Now off with the road traffic and back to my custom AI.
Thanks again for everything, Nick.
Btw: If you need another beta tester for your strobe effects and light mods, PM me.

I hope what you have now is far greater than what you started with.
All I did was provide (in the wrong hands) some very dangerous but solid technical information.

SP1 may change all that and you might have to get acquainted with it again so do not assume anything after that update has been installed and you are properly defragged.
As for the lights, I am just about finished with them and when I make a few other small changes I will send you the file.

Nick: Sorry for a third post almost in a line, but can you suggest a make of RAM that you recommend.
I only wish that the lessons had been less expensive!
