Its too long didn't fit as a quote!!
But definaly this has made improve my FSx performance in a 150% much better now

I have not found an easy GA traffic installer for FSX yet, but still looking!

Try Markus Brunner's "GA Traffic" for FSX.
It's not on SimV, so search the usual suspects for it.
Early tests on ATI hw show their geometry shader unit is much more performant than the GS unit on the NV hw. That could influence our feature plan.
I know john is away for a day or so and when he gets back and sees that snag and those frames I am sure he will be salavating
I would keep the airline traffic slider at 25% and the GA traffic slider at 20% unless you completely replace the AI traffic by removing (and saving somewhere for later) the traffic.bgl file from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery folder, then go here: http://www.world-of-ai.com/packages.php and download the INSTALLER and then ALL the airlines listed. I tried the militery aircaft from there but had problems with the traffic files so their military planes do not work with FSX right now. The files are hosted on AVSIM (hope I did not say a dirty word)
Once all the Airlines zip files are downloaded to a folder (leave them in their zip packages) Use the World of AI installer to install every Airline you downloaded. It will also write a new traffic.bgl for each airline installed. Not all the airlines are listed at W-O-AI, For the rest, go to Project AI and use their installer to finish the job.
From that point you can set the airline traffic slider to 70-90% with almost no frame hit and have the airports busy with airline traffic.
I have not found an easy GA traffic installer for FSX yet, but still looking! I understand Ultimate Traffic is coming out with a version for FSX soo too and this site http://www.ultimatega.com/packages.html has a few GA Jets and props that come with their own traffic .bgl files but unlike WOI, you must install those GA planes and the traffic files manually. If you do use those GA's you can then raise the GA traffic slider higer than 20% and have an entire world of AI with very little frame hit in FSX!
Replacing AI is something I am going to suggest Black ZR-71 do as well as part of tweaking the sim. So far we have left the traffic sliders at a certain level to simulate a traffic load being present but as you have probably noticed, it is a bit lonely in the air and around the airports. Replacing the AI traffic in FSX with a much better set of models will increase performance again, and add to the baron airport world in FSX.
The test flights I posted using the Maul and the 747 are for calibrating it all. With those test flights around the Seattle area one can observe what is happening and then work the autogen numbers, slider, fiber frame percentage and scenery complexity to trim it all out

Those are alternatives however they also do not come without problems too. Not so much performance problems but texture issues going from FS9 to FSX. The light maps can sometimes cause them to appear black from a distance in FSX with the Ultimate GA since they are older. PAI does not seem to have that problem but some of their planes have a tendancy to shimmer a tad. The world of Ai planes are good but they are limited in airline availablity and must be suplemented a bit
Unfortunately no one has developed a complete package for FSX. I also hear Ultimate Traffic is working on it and fixing the small issues they had with frames in FS9 so FSX will not be affected by it. Their aircraft always seemed to work well for me and I liked the interface for editing and compiling.
AI Ardvark is another good place for AI models and paints but I do not think they do not come with an installer or flight plan maker

When Directx 10 is officially released and FSX utilizes it and there are other DirectX 10 games on the market, I will upgrade. For now I will work with what I got. A better PSU is probably the only upgrade I'll make right now.

I dont blame you. I got a good deal on the memory and card I upgraded to at the end of last year and I am waiting till this summer before I start looking to shell out any more. I did bite the bullet and picked up a PC Power and Cooling 1KW power supply since mine had to be replaced anyway. I won't have to make another PSU purchase for a very long time (maybe never at my age) and it will work perfect for a big DX10 upgrade later this year. I am holding off on everything else though.
Open NotePad then copy and paste the following into a text document and then save it with
a "NV Classic CP.reg" file extention. Use the quotes when you save or Notepad will add a
.txt extension onto the file which you do not want.

After saving right click the NV Classic CP.reg file you created to merge it into the registry and
bingo you have the good old Classic (and useable) CP back.
Neat! I just figured out how to use Coolbits on my 8800!Open NotePad then copy and paste the following into a text document and then save it with
