1.) is ATC in FSX better?? I mean: in FS9 it is quite bad as davysims describes very, very correctly. Makes it sense to switch to FSX with respect to ATC??
2.) My solution: from time to time one has to simply overrule ATC and decide to (i) switch to VFR for approaches 'cause procedures are missing (for example LOWI which is highly intersting in VFR) or (ii) keep on going IFR but ignoring ATC with the knowledge that ATC will pick u up a littler bit later again (for example: one of those go-arounds - I land anyway, than, after leaving the runway asking for clearnce for taxing to the gate and ATC does not have any problems).
3.) what I would like to know: recently I thought about buying PDMG 737-600/700 with the FMC. There, as far as I understand, are STAR/SID included for the FMC. Originally ATC in FS9 cannot work with STAR/SID, right? So how is that included than?? Let me give u an example: having planned a flight from A to B still standing at the gate I don't have a clue about the clearance and what RWY to use. So in reality I get the IFR clearance by ATC and afterwards I get the information about the runway and the SID. How is that done with PDMG for example (or any other STAR/SID)? ... Same for the approach ... Is that really working fine?
... what makes me wonder: there are thousands of ad-on programs for mostly every kind of aircraft, scenery what so ever. On the other side most people complain about the bad ATC - is there any ad-on available to really improve and make a mostly authetic ATC?
