No Sound!!

Postby aReyoUIn86 » Wed Dec 06, 2006 2:27 am

I have no idea what happen to my flight simulator....is like every single aircraft I fly there is no sound!! Anyone got any idea why?? And yes I'm not on mute and I do have all the sound setting on high in the flight simulator setting. At last all my aircraft have the sound.cfg file.

Hi.

Is FS the only program affected, or have you no sound from the PC at all?

If just FS, you could look at the sound settings in the program and confirm that all the boxes are checked as well as having the sound sliders on high.

Sounds from your post like you've been adjusting or adding sound.cfg files? Careful here, as these files are normally tailored to a specific sound set. Try aliasing a plane's sound to one of your default planes and see if you still have the problem.

FS seem to be the only program affected. And yes I have all the boxes checked as well as having the sound sliders on high. After all I can hear the gear retracting and the flap but not the engine.

If you can hear the gear retracting, then it sounds like a sound.cfg problem - check that the sound files referenced in the cfg file are actually in the sound folder, or if they are, that they are correctly named. I had a problem recently when I changed a flap retraction sound and forgot to change the file name in the cfg file, so the sound didn't appear.

I think I found a way to fix this problem and that will be to buy Flight simulator 2004 again from the shop. At last thanks for all your guys help.

It turn ouot is only Boeing and Airbus and all of the jet engine aircraft had no sounds.

Here is the outcome nothing changed. A couple days later when I got on all the sounds are back to normal that included the jet engine ones. But the default 747 had vanished.

You either modify so often your FS to have lost track of your handling of the internal files or have a serious case of poltergeist going in your PC. ;D ;)
