I've found that the fall off in MP with increase in altitude is pretty darn accurate in every piston plane I've simmed with.; power too. Now fuel-flow is another thing, but it's close enough if you know to look for the error.
Per Rotty.. proper leaning is well modeled too (far as MP and power go)..
edit: You can turn on "auto mixture" under realism settings.. but what fun is that ?

Might not be much fun, but on some planes, like the DC3, it's quite correct. After all the real DC3 have a function of automixture that FS default plane lack.
