I've finally managed to land this helicopter but then i have another problem. If I shut off the engines i can never get it take off again when i restart the engine. Anyone know what to do?

Roger that . . . it's wierd Here's what I do:

It seems the problem is the wings (rotary wings) feather -- or at least have the effect of being feathered.

I set the sim to 4X (so things happen quicker) and increase the pitch using CTRL+F3 and CTRL+F4

For some reason, CTRL+F4 by itself will not get the job done. Try it.

P.S. As I recall, there was a helo landing lesson in one incarnation of FS where it was required to land with the wing feathered -- CTRL+F1

P.P.S.  I've flown FS helos since they were introduced in FS98 and am getting pretty good at it  :-)

P.S It works great now with the time compression and things.

During\after startup bring up the collective (shift+4 or collective SimIcon).

Check the twist grip throttle.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Yeah as in any helicopter you need to wait for the rpm to get up before you can takeoff
