What card do you have?
ATI AIW X800XT PRO 256mb
EDIT: The AGP version, not the PCI-E
from what I understand users of older ATI cards especially the ATI 9800pro are getting excellent results
What card do you have?
It wont let me enable Adaptive Anti Aliasing
It shows in the list, but is greyed out and wont let me use it.
I am using the latest driver (just downloaded it), card is PCI-E, and the high quality af is availiable and checked
...serves you lot right for buying an ATI card.......
..instead of a n-Vidia card......!
LOL......!
Paul...may the G-Force go with me...(but not you lot!)......
...!

Hmmmmm... if the high quality AF setting became functionally available after you applied the reg settings and a non-functional Adaptive A-A setting appeared, it would seem that there is either an issue with the PCI-E version or the x700 does not support Ad-AA at all.
I wish I could help further however without a PCI-E card to test I would not know where to begin.
I assume the DX Override method I posted did not work for you?

There are ATI cards, other than the latest releases, that will provide full support Adaptive AA however not all of them do and mine is one of them. My card will enable A-AA but the card is missing some of the circuits and components required for full, stable support. I also found a significant frame rate hit (8-10 frames) when allot of autogen foliage was displayed, such as in Alaska and other wilderness areas.
