I never said ONLY consoles, I was kinda just pondering the idea.

Look, I know what you mean, but I have the sensation you're not getting my point of view, no offence meant.

Nothing I can say or do would deter M$ to make a version of FS for a whatever consolle they want. At the same time nothing M$ can say or do will ever convince me to buy it and the hardware needed to make it run.

I don't know about your PC, you never stated your configuration, but mine isn't really that new or fast, a Athlon XP 2400 overclocked to 2600 thanks to the fact it's one of the few Athlon Xp shipped with its multiplier unlocked, 1Gb Ram and videocard Fx5700le 128Mb, is nowhere near the fastest rig around nowadays, but FS runs fine on mine. It actually ran fine enough even on my old configuration of Athlon Xp 1700 512Mb, even if obviously worse than it does now.

And FS Rarely if ever goes under 15fps (expecially since I've bought ASV) and it never really gives me problems.

On the other hand your supposition about physics not being compromised is very weak. Consolles are used mainly by kids who want to plug the consolle and begin to play...

Now try to imagine a kid like that trying to fly a -- I don't say much -- default 747. ;D

So if M$ wants to sell the hypothetical X-box FS, has to dumb it down.

Dumb it down? A simulator? A simulator that of its own has enough problems without wanting to add to it?

Thanks, but no thanks. I'll remain with the PC version. >:(

No, you are not understanding me.

A console FS would still target Flight Simmers, and would still be able to add on, and would give better graphics and physics.  No stupid kid would want it.

Now, I understand that many flight simmers would not go buy a console just because MS made it, but I like the idea.

1gig of RAM?  Thats 2x mine.

Hummm, very interesting thread here.

Have you guys seen the stats for the x box 360? Three processors running at the same time, I'm pretty sure. It has been awhile since I looked at the stats, but it aint no atari for sure.

Now as a few pointed out, the resolution is that of your TV. Well I have a pretty good TV, so that isn't a bad thing for me.

The real downfall for me at least, is that you need DSL. So I wouldn't be able to do the download updates, new planes, screnery.... Once again I forgot the stats, but I know that you can't use a dial up. Too bad for me, as the only connection available is dial up.  :'(

So in my opinion if I buy the new 360 and some sort of flight sim comes out, you betcha I'll get the game to go with it. Especially if it is some sort of flight fighting game.

Please excuse the spelling, to much coffee and not enough sleep.

The choice of words there says a lot about why some of us feel that a "console" version would be a very different "animal".
