My only concerns about FS10 is that it will not be backward-compatable with the freeware we have now, and that it will need a super computer built by NASA to run it.

(not just an upgrade).

I guess some don't understand the amount of programming goes into a flight sim
Who knows - it may be worth the long wait.

Secondy, i guess it would be a wise choice not to go in for any hardware updates as of now. Wait until you hear from microsoft, save a million and get the best the market has to offer.
So, there you go........an excuse to upgrade your system to a super computer.

What the heck is a "de facto Flight Simulator"?

1. Improoved Aircraft
2. Massive jumps on AI and ATC
3. A better Real world wether system (weve all set it to this, and sat in our hometown thinking "Its sunny and 70 here, why is it snowing in the game?"
4. An improoved Flight envirment. (VFR mesh, water textures, clouds, dawn / dusk etc)
