Because FS2004 is an american based program they forget about  the rest of the world. How about thinking about us down under who are forgotten about. Australia is luck to see basic scenery in major airports country airports are totally forgotten about. you get the bare basics a runway and a building if your lucky and they are usually in the wrong place. My local airport was lucky, it has a tree right on short final. There are a lot of aussies out there who buy your products how about being included in realistic scenery. Also being a helicopter pilot how about some real heli effects like realistic torque effects when you apply and reduce power and also include realistic helicopter force feedback forces. With all these computer generated effects we see in movies these days surely they can be Incorporated into a computer game

Looking around on the web I found out that there are over 14,000 airfields in the world. That's a lot of airports.

Cheers,

I think some details in the US are overlooked, too.

Several good-sized towns in Washington State, and at least one city, are missing.

All good-sized towns, and most citys, are missing from the rest of the FS world. :P

way before that my friend. In Canada it look more like 70 there is a complete village missing and some highway are missing (believe me we dont build them so fast) I am sure if i look closely i will see Canoe on the st-laurence river.....  :-/

Speaking of terrain, they need to stop using those old satellite images that seem to date back to the early 1990's.

Examples:

Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport [in real life] is adjacent and to the West of a major Avenue [and it's right next to it] that runs a long way from North to South. In FS they show the Avenue, but the Ave. is off by some miles to the East of it's true location.

There are now some townhouses and stores that are just outside the Northern side of the airports perimeter.

The Port of Miami is not split in two by a body of water.

I can get up-to-date satellite images for cheap online. It shouldn't hurt for M$ to spend a couple more hundred bucks for updated sat images.

Everything else is ok.

They also need to fix that hole in Arkansas.

And one more thing.

When will M$ ever start putting at least a fence around the major airports?

EDIT: The weather should also allow for hurricane conditions. I love to fly around in hurricane-force winds. ;D

Another interesting discussion....My machine does not have enough video memory to run FS2004. I have sent written complaints to MS about the Duluth, Mn harbor six times in eight years. The last notice included a map to locate the whole problem. Since FS4, MS has repeatedly missed the canals that create the harbor. I would like to know if they actually got it right this time?

Also, the United States does not get priority with MS. The entire north central United States has hundreds of small town airports. The towns themselves are totally missing. Yet, the small villages in Europe that I used to stay in are populated with buildings. Any word on that correction??

And, yes, the whole world is a lot to display. But, they have been trying for 18 years. Not listening to users is the main complaint I have at this point. When something is pointed out, it should be fixed.

And I forgot...would FS2004 scenery work in FS2002?? And, what about that patch with the 160 missing bridges?? Are they missing from FS2002 also??

Has anyone created upgraded scenery for the central U.S. like the mega stuff for both coasts?? Who's on first?

Here's another mistake...I live in Minnesota. It's not my fault..I just can't find a way to escape. Is there anyone else out there that is near the "Twin Cities"?? Misery loves company.

I'm sure someone has stated this before, but I'll give it a try:
The "most accurate" scenery (and I use that term loosely), default and add-on, is basically going to cover the areas of largest population due simply to marketing.  MS and commercial add-on developers are like any other business, and they have target populations that they reach.  Most of the flight simulation population is on the east and west coast of the US; that's not to say that MS and developers don't care about the rest of the nation or the world, but they have limited resources themselves and want to acheive the best profit margin.
I, for example, live in Kansas.  Not exactly a hotbed for scenery (virtual or real), but I continue to be impressed by what is there, and I try not to dwell on what isn't.
There's my two cents.  And to anyone who continues to complain about this problem or that, I suggest you try your hand at developing add-ons or, even better, your own flight simulator.  In this market, there's always room for more.
