FS2004 Wont Load during Day, Dusk and Dawn.

Postby Sameer » Thu Aug 26, 2004 5:12 pm

FS2004 doesn't loads when I set the time to Day, Dusk or Dawn. It only loads when the time is set to Night. So when I set the time to day, and hit the Go Fly! button, the loading status window says "Loading Terrain: 20% -
51%" and then FS2004 quits.

Sameer,

Hi and welcome to SimV.

From the very brief info you have given...... my guess is that something has corrupted something crucial in the daytime textures used.

Did you install some new add-on scenery just before this started?

Welcome to the site.
I agree with JBAYMORE something has changed . You could try restoring the textures off the disks. The only problem is which ones to restore. It might be a easier task to just uninstall & reinstall FS2004.
If you decide to do this before you proceed I suggest you do the following
If you have added any scenery or planes move the entire addon scerery folder & the entire aircraft folder & gauge folder to a different folder of your choice but out of the fs9 folder.
Then move your scenery cfg file to the same folder
If you have made any changes to the effects or the main sound folders than move those as well.
After you uninstall fs2004 delete the entire folder
Make sure you delet the FS2004 cfg file also.
Then reinstall fs2004 than before you start it up move the other folder s back to fs2004 and over write
Then start up fs2004 and that should take care of the problem.

"Make sure you delet the FS2004 cfg file also." Agreed! . . . but make that deletion to fs9.cfg

This will give the user a clean slate as it were into which the new settings will reside.

Stop using the FS9 logbook feature; it will toast your installation on many systems (not all).

Do not use Spring Season in FS9 (it also has bugs: the FS9 Spring Bug

hope this helps

p.s. i've had them all and learned from others
