Gents:
This is all we cfs2 fans have been praying for..but MS is playing deaf on us.
i agree with the fact that fs9 is a civil sim, well cfs4 should be fs9 with guns, then you

I'm sorry to say
I dont hold much hope that you will be able to get this working,  for several reasons.
I'm sure it could be done but there is a lot of high level programming that would have to be done.
Considering that you have stated you are not a programmer, it would take you quite some time to develop the skills needed. Along with that you would have to get right into the machine code and I'll bet that Microsoft would have something to say about it.

The only hope I see would be FSUPIC kind of add-on, something using the collision detection and aircraft damage effects, but it would only work air to air at best and wouldnt come close to what I think you want.

Plug away while your at it we could see it happen somewhere.  People have been talking about a virtual battle field for a good 15 years now.  A place modeled on the real worls where land sea and Air forces share the same world and interact.  It is coming and the company that can get it on the market will be someting to buy stock in for sure.  All the peices are in place, someon just needs to put it all into one box so it works.

Add- on some virtual reality helmets ( and a good chair that you wont fall out of) and fights on!

Hi all: Everything that has been asked for or stated here is in fact already developed and in use. The only thing is that to be privy to it you have to be in the armed services. I've sat in the seat of an f14 sim and flown it around the battle fields with full armament that is fireable or can be droped with effects. The graphics aren't that much better than what you have in FS9 right now. I was amased when I first saw how good the FS9 grahics are. In my mind there is a higher reason for not having what we want than M$ not doing the programing, because they already have. Its just not going to be avaliable to the public for some time to come.

Sounds like a great idea.
You could fly the presidents airplane with fighter support. And have a terrorist attempt to get to the president. Then take off in your escort fighter and take out the attacker. Or take out that plane that took out the civilian aircraft.

But of course if MS did it it would run at 12fps

It IS definatley possible (using FSUIPC ).
But as J3 said, it would need a complex little add-on.
The thing here, is to get a few programmers interested in this and maby they could work something out.

I think most people would want CFS4 to be FS9 with guns, since FS9 is such a good base to build on.

Makes me wonder why MS changed the CFS engine.
I suppose if they brought out one product that fulfils two categories, it would be like shootin yourself in the foot.

Well.......i think we cfs-series-fans have some responsability on this. We wanted "multiple and controllable gunners" we wanted this we wanted that and forgot that at the end this is a fligth sim..for simulated pilots no gunners. if you find boring flying a mission on a b17 as a pilot...then go for another game, you are suposed to be a pilot.Another reason is microsofts Xbox, MS wants in the future that all it
