Did you convert your repainted bitmaps back to extended (32-bit) format?  If not, download DXTbmp.exe and it'll solve your problem.

Yes I did, I'm not to sure if it is the bitmaps that is the proplem,

I think it is the CFG Aircraft file because, Ive been going by your tutorial, and all the things you have to edit are not in this FS2002 CFG Aircraft file? (eg Ui_variation)

Can you copy the first bit of the aircraft.cfg file here so we can see it?  Hopefully it's something very simple like a typo, which would make FS2004 look for a texture with a slightly wrong name.

Here it is:

[fltsim.0]
title=X-15c
sim=X-15c
ui_manufacturer=North American
ui_type=X-15c
description=X-15 By Massimo Altieri - Rocket plane for hypersonic flight
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
kb_checklists=

And this is one below it I created:

[fltsim.1]
title=X-15c NASA Blue
sim=X-15c
ui_manufacturer=North American
ui_type=X-15c
description=X-15 By Massimo Altieri - Rocket plane for hypersonic flight
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=1
kb_checklists=

V., dumb question, and more to eliminate the obivous (remember, you're not an "expert"  until you've missed obvious things:

You DID create a " texture.1"  folder,

and you DID NOT rename the textures?

I always find that some aircraft work with 16 bit, some with 24, and some with 32. I've never had to convert to DXT, so try saving the bitmaps in different bit depths.

However, you don't have a UI_variation in your aircraft config, so I'm guessing that is the problem.

Add the variation line to BOTH variations of aircraft, call it what you want. Then try again.

Yes I did create a new texure folder "Texure.1"

And no I did not rename the files.

As a test - make copies of the textures involved, put them in a safe folder.

Convert the texture.1 textures to simple 8-bit (256 color)  this is the basic no reflections, no nuttin'  texture format, and see if it shows up.

This way, if these basic textures show up then the problem is, like you say, in the format you're using.

The only other thing I can imagine is that for some reason, your conversion back to DXT3 or 32-bit is not finding its way into the texture.1 folder and the texture.1 folder files are basic 24-bit bitmaps.

Yes I did create a new texure folder "Texure.1"

Make sure you named it Texture.1 - not Texure.1.

Email me a copy of the whole thing if you like, and I'll take a look.  Click on my profile for my Yahoo address.

Sorted  :)

The wings and tail repaints work fine, it's the textures for fuselage sides that aren't showing.  That's because you named them:

 X_15_side1_t.bmp

when they should be called:

 X-15 side1_t.bmp

And the same with side 2, obviously.  Just rename the file carefully, paying close attention to the difference between - and _ and everything will be okay.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
They were named correctly?

Still no luck, are they the right file type

Extended 32bit 888-8

When I attached them to the email the file name probably changed, all spaces and figures to _.
