While the hobby is fortunate in having quite a number of people that are willing to share freely of their knowledge and time to help out others, I guess I do recognize that there are some who learn better with someone guiding them "in vivo".
Maybe I'm growing more mellow as I (allegedly) mature, but if I have a skill (teaching others modelling, etc) and I'm going to put myself through the straightjacket of setting up a formal "course" online, probably at odd hours, I would like to be compensated. Also, by actually paying something, the 'student' might be motivated to actually pay attention.
I think there's room for everyone at the table - just as there are good freeware and payware models.
Now, would *I* pay for modelling instruction? Perhaps, If I commit to the time needed, that might be the way. otherwise, like Hagar says, there are available resources - tutorials, forums, and people - that one can use.
