No offence but I think we have a pretty good university of design right here & also at FFDS. The advice is also freely given.

I agree hagar.
It might have been somthing I would have paid for if it wasnt for the fact that you have to pay for registration AND pay for the class

Personally, if I'm going to pay for a class, it's at least going to be an accredited college course. ;)
Great edit, Bob.

While the hobby is fortunate in having quite a number of people that are willing to share freely of their knowledge and time to help out others, I guess I do recognize that there are some who learn better with someone guiding them "in vivo".

Maybe I'm growing more mellow as I (allegedly) mature, but if I have a skill (teaching others modelling, etc) and I'm going to put myself through the straightjacket of setting up a formal "course" online, probably at odd hours, I would like to be compensated.  Also, by actually paying something, the 'student'  might be motivated to actually pay attention.

I think there's room for everyone at the table - just as there are good freeware and payware models.

Now, would *I* pay for modelling instruction?  Perhaps, If I commit to the time needed, that might be the way.  otherwise, like Hagar says, there are available resources - tutorials, forums, and people - that one can use.

sorry to bring up this topic.

Here's some doubts in my mind about this:

We don't actually get to see the instructors work, I think that would definitely aid to the selling point of this FSDU thing.

First of all the website annoys me, the images arent showing, if they cant produce a good website, as designers how can we trust there work. Secondly the constant sound annoys me, I know you can turn it off but so what.

Then, if they think I would pay a registration fee and then wait for them to contact me they have to be kidding! So far I would have nothing for my money.

I filled in the form just to see and the submit takes you to a dead link anyway.

No I wouldnt touch it far more to learn here and other forums for free.

hmmm....What the university doesn;t realize is; creating flight sim add ons is  a freeware community. Its awsome that people can download free software, get free help, and make free planes. This is why the community is so dam huge!I dont think that there gonna make any money attempting to sell something thats free.Maybe I'm wrong.... ::)
