My Results:

F-15 Eagle

You are an F-15. Your record in combat is spotless; you've never been defeated. You possess good looks, but are not flashy about it. You prefer to let your reputation do the talking

From the looks of it, that sim is a loooooooong way from achieving reality as compared to M$FS. But still, it's a good start considered the new computer technologies that are out there now and available.

Can Gmax be used for making addons for that sim? Speaking of which, does it have an open architecture that allows modifications?

If "Yes" is the answer for both questions, then there is hope for that new sim.

I don't know the answer to your question about gmax, BUT I did notice that they have the SOURCE CODE posted on the web-site which I take to mean that they have an open policy on modifications and what not.. ;)

Well, I installed it and I tried it. I felt some sense of realism when flying some of the models in FG. However, the controls for the keyboard are really awkward at best.

Review of Flight gear

Visuals:

The scenery and visual models look ok and they appear to be decent looking. There are runway and taxi lights as well as some form of autogen. AI aircraft is already included and the loading process doesn't take that much. Surprisingly, with all the AI, light effects, and scenery maxed out with 1280x800 resolution, the frame rates are awsome.

However, the frames are murdered if you apply the detailed clouds.

The key assignments will take a long while to get use to because I still can't figure out which key to press to release the brakes [if any].

Speaking of scenery, there are not that many airports in the scenery. The list is completely short.

My joystick seems to work very well in the sim.

All in all, as a suggestion, don't critisize the sim. FG is still young and, like a little kid in preschool, can still grow in the years to come. I have never flown the models in real life, so I can't tell weather the models act realistically or not [that's probably the job of the pros - Ozzy? ;) ]. All I can say is the sim feels more like a sim and less like a game.

My review: The black screen looked good at first, but lacked a lot of AutoGen.

Never mind. I tinkered with it a little and got it to run.

Not too bad. Reminds me of a mix between X-Plane and FS95. ::)
