unable to complete the format

hello friends....when i try to format my drive C i got error at 99% that unable to complete the format...it is partitioned space and was working fine......so whats the problem with it..plz help..i m in great trouble....how do i format it. :-? :-? :-?

Might be a hardware (harddrive) problem , no? Sometimes, many harddrive manufacturers have diagnostic and setup utilities available for download. Maxtor, for example, offers "Powermax" and "Maxblast" (or at least they used too, not sure anymore) that will allow you to run tools to check for smart errors, bad sectors and such, as well as offering tools to perform low-level formats. Might be worth looking into.
