Saitek Rudder Pedals

Postby bok269 » Sat Sep 01, 2007 4:46 pm

So my new Saitek Rudder Pedals came in the mail yesterday.  I installed the software.  TOday, I go to use them for the first time.  I decide to start off by doing something familiar since Ive never used rudder pedals before in FS. I figure ill do a pattern around good old HPN.  I boot it up, the game loads, I start to taxi, hit the toe brakes, release, but the bakes indicator still doesn't go away and the brakes are still engaged!  So now they are going to have me send it back.  Before I do, does anyone have any last ditch ideas I can try before I send this thing back and am without it for who knows how long?

Thing is, I go into the control panel>Game Controllers>Rudder Pedals, and the pedals are shown as activated, outside of the game.  Other thing is, I hit the parking brake, turn it off, and the brakes disappear.

Ill give it another try.  Thanks for the help.

I attempted to toy with the deadzones, but nothing worked.  The plane was still stuck on brakes.  Any other ideas?

Finally got it.  All you have to do is set both brake axis to reverse and set the null zone to zero.  Simple, aint it?   ;) ;) ;)

I ran into to the same problem with mine. I actually had to take out the  DREADED...  Instruction Manual  AND READ IT  :-? :o :-/  It actually tells you step by step instructions of how to fire up FS9/Settings/Controllers...Blah, Blah, Blah... friggin' instruction manuals  ::) I know, but in Saitek's case, it really was worth while reading it and setting it up "by the numbers" was quite easy. They work great in my opinion, but not being a plug and go item like the CHP's that I wore out, did cause me to get a little warm under the collar. Alright, alright, so I may have growled and cussed and salivated a little bit (not a lot, just a little bit  ;) )and theatened to take a sledge hammer and smash the friggin' thing into million little pieces, but in the end, reading and following the instruction manual seemed to have worked out just as well  ;) Semper Fi, Dave
