...an interesting little snippet...

About a year or so ago, I heard on the grape-vine that the telephone company, (British Telecom), were getting so concerned about the loss of revenue due to dial-up users blocking incoming calls on their own phone line, (no-one can contact a dial-up user by phone whilst they are connected to the Internet), that the phone company seriously considered allowing the dial-up users to obtain Broadband at a nominal cost, or even for
free!.
Unfortunately for me and the merry band of dial-up users, so many users have now bitten the bullet and purchased the much more expensive Broadband option, that the
free idea has now been dropped...!

If, and when, the cost of Broadband drops to the same price as dial-up I may consider going over to it...

...in the meantime, my "Anytime" dial-up option suits me admirably. I rarely download very large files, and although turning pages can be a little slow at times, I am imbibed with sufficient patience to wait...

P.S. Interestingly, with my excellent hardware set-up, I have no problems playing on-line, with everything maxed, using dial-up...
