"I don't know how to change to another mother board and mine is maxed out,"
You may have to buy a new power supply unit of at least 500 watts, or a new PC case that includes a 500w PSU. The PSU should be ATX2 standard as many newer mainboards require the extra 4 pin power connector that comes with ATX2 standard.
The mainboards are standard and are screwed to the case with a little care. Installing components is relatively easy, again care is required.
The motherboard manual should show the PINOUT for the case wiring. Some cases/mainboards have strange wiring and sometimes a simple modification may need to be made to the case connecting wires.
It's fun to change mainboards!

" for my proceesor XP 2400."
The XP 2400+ CPU runs on a 133mhz x 2 (DDR 266mhz) front side bus speed. The FSB speed determines how fast the data is processed on the PC as a whole. The FSB is mainboard/CPU dependant and they must be compatible.
As far as I'm aware, there is not a 2400+ 64 bit CPU. More than likely you will purchase an XP 3500+ (or greater) 64bit CPU which will thrust you into a new performance bracket.
-------------------------------------
"So I was just wondering, if a newer computer with 64 bit processing say by Amd would work for my FS9, Pool game and Tiger Woods 2004 games, and of course for my writings."
Yes, of course they should, the technology is reverse compatible and runs in 32 bit mode. Almost everyone who currently has a 64 bit rig is running 32 bit apps.
-------------------------------
"Forget the processor - an AMD 64 would be just fine anyhow - a far more important consideration is the Graphics card."
The CPU will make a huge difference in performance. A modern CPU is a different animal. The faster your CPU, the better your sim works.
Can anyone post a screenshot of their CPU usage showing less than 100% committed in FS9?
Of course, the Graphics card is extremely important, you won't be able to display all that power without a good one, and that's the bottom line.
--------------------------
"You will get no performence upgrade in fs2004 if you are only switching to 64-bit and nothing else is changed. "
AMD 64bit CPU's run on mainboards with a typical FSB of 1000mhz DDR, which is almost 4 times faster than your current PC. This difference alone makes 64 bit PC's much faster, but only if the applications you use demand the extra performance. FS9 will demand that.
-----------------------
"Yeah, the "64 bit" itself will give nothing unless coupled with 64 bit OS and application."
Well, I think it will help because there is the front side bus speed to consider and there is also the advantage of new PC3200 400mhz RAM, instead of his current PC2100 RAM.
Add to this the fact that the new RAM runs in DUAL CHANNEL mode, thus eliminating any bottlenecking on the bus, and we have a definite winner!
------------------------
A 64 bit upgrade will force major hardware changes, starting at chipset level.
Front side bus, CPU and RAM all run faster and more effectively.
New CPU process technology results in cooler, faster and smarter CPU's.
Speed is everything ;)
