There is a bike, (or two), I think it may be a big Suzuki 4-stroke single, with a small window on the crankcase to show a mark indicating when the stroke is at the correct firing angle, which can be viewed with the seated rider. The bike is slowly turned over with the kick starter until the mark lines up, then a hefty kick on the kick-starter will bring the bike into life!

Paul.....I need a hefty kick most mornings to bring me to life... ;) ... ;) ...!

Emmy (Christened by my boys) the MGB is still coming along. I have taken some pictures, but not got around to posting them. I am hoping to have her finished this year. As she was a rubber bumper model, changing to fairing and a recessed grill involved a lot of cutting and welding at the front........I had to wait and save up for a wire feed welder, my old stick arc welder would have made a big mess. I have also been so busy, I have not had time to scratch my own rear. The hacking, bashing and welding is now done and I mocked up the front fairing and grill. I now have to find time to sand back and paint the welded areaa now that I have applied filler to them. I will try and get some pictures up soon.......you are not he only one to ask.... :shifty:

As for Holly the Honda (Christened by my wife), no she has not taken over, but I think my day to day car is feeling a bit left out.....

Latest Video Upload!
Part of a trip around the Herefordshire countryside.

This part, a 13-mile trip from Hereford City to Leominster Town along the A49 Trunk Road connecting the two....>>>

A text-narrated journey.

I have the microphone located in my helmet, but as you can hear from the audio, the wind noise in my open-face helmet precludes its use for audio narration!
I prefer open-face helmets for good all-round visibility, but I will have to experiment with a full-face helmet, with the visor down, to see if the wind noise is drastically reduced in the microphone to allow audio narration on the fly!

In the meantime, take a trip with me along the leafy highways and byways of rural Herefordshire and the surrounding Counties!

Very nice Paul! I did appreciate the location pointer of the old Bulmer's Cider Brewery. Ahh, yess many's the Sunday lunch spent with a flagon of Bulmers on the table. I notice it's not far from the dead centre (cemetary). Then too your nice automatic gate, opens to a slight touch. Nice vid mate.

Many thanks Chums!.... :D ....!

Good to know you like them!

Log:
When I left school at the age of 16 in 1950, I started my working life at HP Bulmer's Cider Works as an apprentice (6-years!) Electrician... a maintenance electrician!
A fantastic learning experience covering all sorts of electrical apparatus and machinery!
I spent a happy 12 years there, interspaced with 2 years compulsory; "National Service" in between... ..... (I was deferred from 16 until I was 18 to enable me to complete my apprenticeship).
In 1962 I left Bulmers, and started working for a new Computer Room Air Conditioning company as an Electrical Engineer and Draughtsman until I retired in 1984!
The large site previously occupied by Bulmers Cider Factory is now a smart housing estate, and a large part of my life disappeared without trace in the process!.... ....!
....the site previously occupied by the Computer Air Conditioning Company I worked for is now a B&Q Super Store, and another big lump of my life is gone!... ....!

Tug:
Many thanks, Tug! Glad you enjoyed it!

Anthin:
..same again...!
Interesting comment on the clean streets! It seems to come natural to we English folks to keep the place clean and tidy, with no litter left lying around!.... :D ....!

Cats; Keeping my front gate closed discourages the local Cats from crapping on my front lawn....and they go elsewhere....probably/sometimes... ...!

Paul...more fun stuff coming soon!... ...!

Hello Doug!

Come to Sunny Herefordshire, for peace, tranquillity, and ultimate tidiness!.... :D ...!

As Anthin has observed, the streets of Hereford City are noticeably clean and tidy, and the various housing areas are devoid of litter, etc, where I suspect most of the residents personally collect any rubbish that has been left behind making the place look untidy!
...I know my neighbours and I do!

Maybe, unlike Costa Geriatrica, (Worthing-by-the Sea) Herefordshire and Hereford City are not high on the list for folks to visit,
so we don't suffer with Fish and Chip, Ice Cream packets, wrappers, etc, litter being dropped on the ground.
Such dining establishments are very few on the ground!
I have yet to spot a group of Japanese visitors busy photographing the flowers in my front garden!.... :o ....!
Most of the folks living here have been here for generations, and tend to keep the place nice and tidy!
The sight of a street cleaner in operation is a rare sight...there is nothing to clean up!
Even the country-side is noticeably devoid of litter and discarded hardware.

Seaside areas, and heavily populated inner-city areas with a migrant/transient population are probably places where one is most likely to observe discarded litter.
We "Country Folk" tend to clean-up our living spaces automatically!

When it comes to discarded "stuff", I often observe it in photographs and videos/films of South-Western USA, desert regions etc, where council rubbish collection is never carried out. Discarded vehicles, etc, litter the countryside.
...even mountains of rubbish (homeless population) under the various highway/interstate fly-overs (San Francisco/Los Angeles).

Keeping the place clean and tidy is a state of mind!

Paul....doing a bit of urgent dusting and hoovering!... ;) .....!
