I am now getting back into the saddle after a 15 year break. I have a Honda Blackbird CBR 1100 XX. She is from 1999 but only has 50, 000 km on her, so over her life she has averaged about 300 km per month....She was a great find, like new.

Wonderful news Matt!
You are back in the club again!...

Honda CBR 1100 XX Super Blackbird?...a Big old Dog!
You must be a big strong Lad to fully manage that beast now!...

A couple of my mates (now deceased) used to own Honda CBR 1000/1100's.
1992 Honda CBR 600 FM Supersport was my previous Honda version, got stolen in my front garden in 1996, and replaced with my present 1996 Honda CB 500RR Twin.
Even that was getting difficult to manage, high centre of gravity, and seat, tank, etc, far too high, resulting in it falling over on me!
I've still got her, stored, unused, indoors for the past 4 years!
My present Harley Davidson 72 1200 Sportster...dreamland!... Honda CMX 250C Rebel is more in line with my present age and strength....lightweight, low centre of gravity...and seat 26 inches from the ground....not so far to fall!...

My present three bikes, the two Hondas and my baby Yamaha RXS-100, only cost me £65 TPFT* per year each to insure (Hastings Direct) which is pretty good for motorcycles!
My little 1976 50cc Yamaha FS1M is still in the workshop being rebuilt!
Have fun on your new bike Matt....

...and, as they say...."keep the shiny-side up"....

Take care!
Paul....

P.S...Matt...Motorbikes....I assume that the missus has taken out a life insurance policy on you...to cover the mortgage repayments, food, utilities, etc...should the worst happen?....

...my two Daughters-in-law have the same worry, for the same reasons!....
