I've got my old 1982, 40,000 mile, Austin Allegro 1.5 HL, bronze, 4-door saloon, stored unused and collecting dust in my garage since 1990.
I wonder how much it would fetch at Sotheby's Auction.......!

If you believe Clarkson and Co then you'll have to pay someone to take it away,![]()
that having been said I worked at a BL garage in the 70's/80's and drove cars from all makes from Rolls Royce's to 850cc Mini's and have to say the Allegro's were not that bad, esp the 1750's which went like the proverbial rat up a wotset. Even the dreaded Marina was pretty good compared to some of the JAP stuff at the time, my mate had an estate and he did well over 150000mls with no major problems.
With a good-old clean, polish, and a bit of TLC, my 40,000 mile Allegro would be good for the road again, for an enthusiast!
...(Are there any such folk as; "Austin Allegro Enthusiasts"?).......

I need someone who knows what they are doing regarding painting stuff!
