Hay, Doug! Remember - don't try to fly in areas that you know well.
Probably like 99% of the people who bought FSX, I tried to fly over my house. What I saw was one of the reasons that I was about to toss it in the trash!
If FSX was THAT BAD in my area.....
Throw the dmd thing in the trash!!!!!!
I usually start my flights in Concrete, Washington (3w5). It's one of the "high detail" small towns/airports.
I think that it looks
GREAT! But I can pretty much guarantee that a local flying the same scenery is FSX would hate it.
The best we can do right now is to fly outside of our area of experience, and in an area that is somewhat believable.
As to the order of things, if I'll be flying in an Orbx area I'll use
FTX Central 2 to change, or confirm, the selection of the area. After all, it's in their best interest to make that area look its' best.
There are a few places, and types of scenery, such as photoreal, where I will arrange the order. But those are rare.
The other thing about
FTX Central 2 is that it will find and install the updates for you. Again, it's in their best interest to make the areas look their best so you'll buy more.
If I recall correctly, you have some competing Canadian scenery textures. In some areas that may cause a scenery problem. Some people say that you
can, and some people say that you
can not mix them. At least not in the same areas.
